    AT A GLANCE

Guernsey is a British Crown dependency in the English Channel. As well as the 10 parishes on the island itself, Guernsey includes the smaller islands of Herm, Jethou, Burhou, and Lihou.

Guernsey’s capital is St Peter Port, the official languages are English and French, and the official currency is the British pound sterling (GBP). Although Guernsey is not part of the UK, matters of defence and international relations are handled by the British Government.

Employment on Guernsey is largely fuelled by financial services such as banking, fund management and insurance. And there’s also been recent growth in construction, retail and in the public sector. Guernsey is a popular destination thanks to its low income taxes and death duties.

Our local Tax Natives on Guernsey can tell you everything you need to know about the ins and outs of your tax obligations there. Whether you’re buying a single property, or doing complex business deals, we’ll get you the advice you need. Just say the word and we can link you with a local expert who can answer all your questions.
