Jersey is the largest of the self-governed Channel Islands found in the English Channel. Although it is a British Crown dependency, Jersey is not part of the UK, and the UK Government only gets involved in matters of defence and international affairs.
The official language spoken on Jersey is English and the British pound (GBP) is the currency. St Helier is the capital of Jersey, which is divided into 12 parishes.
